AOA organizes recognition of paraoptometric staff

ST. LOUIS — The American Optometric Association Paraoptometric Section designated Sept. 18 to 24 as Paraoptometric Recognition Week, according to an association press release.

This effort is designed to honor paraoptometrics for their dedication to the profession of optometry and the patients they serve.

"To be successful, a primary eye care practice should have an efficient, dependable, and knowledgeable staff," Rodolfo L. Rodriguez, OD, said in the release. "To provide the best care to our patients, we must have supportive and well trained paraoptometrics."

To help in making plans for the observance, a free-of-charge Paraoptometric Recognition Week Promotional Kit, courtesy of Shamir, is available and may be requested by sending an e-mail to pararecognition@aoa.org. Other suggestions for recognition ideas are available at www.aoa.org/x8609.xml, according to the release.
