Optometry Giving Sight receives corporate sponsorship
Optos and Davis Vision made significant donations to Optometry Giving Sight as part of the 2010 World Sight Day Challenge.
As a result of making a donation for each Optomap retinal screening performed on World Sight Day, which was Oct. 14, Optos donated about $16,000.
As a global company focused on protecting eyesight, Optos is proud to help raise awareness about preventing blindness by participating in the World Sight Day Challenge, Roy Davis, Optos chief executive officer, said in an Optometry Giving Sight press release.
Employees of three Davis Vision locations organized bowling events in honor of World Sight Day and donated $8,000 to Optometry Giving Sight.
We wanted to fund raise for Optometry Giving Sight because of their commitment to providing vision care around the world. Davis Vision regularly provides free vision services and outreach nationally and internationally through frame donations, vision screenings and partnerships targeting uninsured children, the homeless and underserved populations, Laura Dyer, Davis Vision assistant vice president of community relations, said in another press release.
