WAILEA, Hawaii — In this Healio Video Perspective from Hawaiian Eye 2024, Michael Greenwood, MD, explains the benefits of using virtual reality education for patients undergoing cataract surgery.

“We developed a product that helps patients understand their options, makes it stick and allows them to test drive their IOL options before they have cataract surgery,” Greenwood said.

Greenwood said 86% of patients who recalled using the headset said their vision after cataract surgery appeared similar to what they saw in the headset, and 91% said they would recommend the headset to friends or family who need cataract surgery.
