Sight Sciences launched the Ergo-Series of its Omni surgical system for minimally invasive glaucoma surgery in the United States.

“The Ergo-Series maintains the same therapeutic functionality as the second-generation Omni surgical system,” Reay Brown, MD, chief medical officer of Sight Sciences, said in a press release. “The technology enhancements provide additional benefits that enable surgeons to perform an innovative, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.”

The Ergo-Series includes improved handle ergonomics, simplified viscoelastic preparation and a new cannula tip design that allows more precise access to Schlemm’s canal, according to the release.

Omni is indicated for canaloplasty followed by trabeculotomy to reduce IOP in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma and can be used in conjunction with or after cataract surgery.

Sight Sciences expects to launch the Ergo-Series outside the U.S. later this year.
