Alcon, J&J Surgical Vision resolve femtosecond laser litigation
Alcon has entered into a settlement agreement with J&J Surgical Vision to resolve legal proceedings related to femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery devices, according to a company press release.
At the center of the litigation is the LenSx femtosecond laser system, which Alcon acquired with its purchase of LenSx Lasers in 2010, according to the release.

The companies exchanged cross-licenses of certain intellectual property and other covenants and releases, with Alcon paying J&J Surgical Vision $199 million for those rights to resolve worldwide intellectual property disputes.
