KOLOA, Hawaii — In this Healio Video Perspective from Hawaiian Eye 2023, Marjan Farid, MD, discusses residual refractive error after cataract surgery.

If the residual refractive error is large and the cornea is normal, “In that case, something happened. You have to go in and change that lens and treat that quickly,” Farid said.

There are many tools available to the surgeon to address residual refractive error, according to Farid. The key, she said, is to systematically determine the source of the error and go from there.
