KOLOA, Hawaii — In this Healio Video Perspective from Hawaiian Eye 2023, Jesse L. Berry, MD, discusses dark pigmented lesions in the tissues of the eye.

“Any choroidal nevus can, of course, transform into a malignant melanoma,” she said. “I recommend that you know the high-risk features — height greater than 2 mm, subretinal fluid, presence of lipofuscin, ultrasonographic hollowness and lack of good prognostic signs like a halo or drusen.”
