NEW YORK — Eric D. Donnenfeld, MD, provides insight on what surgeons should expect the future of refractive surgery to look like and addresses the uncertainties of industry changes to come in a presentation at OSN New York.

“Going forward, the demand for cataract and refractive surgery will continue to grow worldwide,” he said. “The next decade will certainly bring more surgical cases per cataract surgeon, more premium IOLs, less reimbursement for standard surgery, and more SMILE and phakic IOLs, but LASIK and PRK will continue to dominate.”
