VIDEO: IRIS Registry, clinical trial data used to emulate control arm for wet AMD study
In this Healio Video Perspective, Durga S. Borkar, MD, MMCi, discusses a presentation from the Retina Society meeting exploring if data from the IRIS Registry and clinical trial data could be used to simulate a control arm.
“It is possible to use EHR registry data to emulate a synthetic control arm,” Borkar said. “While we may not do this for neovascular AMD trials in the future, this is a really important methodology for other disease processes.”
