Davis, who has led the nephrology guideline development process with the National Kidney Foundation since 1985 and KDIGO for the last 12 years, will take on the role of CEO-emeritus and remain on as a volunteer.

Danielle Green, the current executive director of the organization, will succeed as CEO. Green has helped secure the financial base of KDIGO and build relationships with volunteers and corporate sponsors, as part of its founding team.

“I’ll miss the day-to-day progress and work of KDIGO, but I know that Danielle will step right in and keep KDIGO’s progress on track,” Davis said in the release. “She is the ideal person for the role, is globally oriented and is highly respected by our team and partners. I’m incredibly proud of KDIGO’s reputation for high standards and competence built through the hard work of our team and volunteer leaders. It has been a pleasure and honor to lead the staff and work with renowned nephrologists from around the world on important programs that help our patients.”
