The National Kidney Foundation has relaunched its website, NKF Election Center, that provides patients and “kidney advocates” with key dates and deadlines for the November midterm elections, according to a press release.

“With voters already casting primary election ballots and looking ahead to November, NKF continues the work it began in 2020 to support every kidney patient as they safely make their voice heard at the ballot box,” Kevin Longino, CEO of the NKF, said in a press release. “It also ensures candidates understand the importance of supporting a pro-kidney health agenda both on the campaign trail and once in office.”

Information for both mail-in and in-person voting is available on the site. Further, the NKF Election Center also addresses the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on patients.

“[Chronic kidney disease] creates an outsized burden on Medicare patients and spending. There is an urgent need for an increase in federal funding for programs that support kidney disease awareness, education and research,” Longino said in the release.
