ASM Microbe returns as in-person meeting
ASM Microbe has returned as an in-person conference for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
After 2 years as an all-virtual event, the meeting is being held from June 9 to 13 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. It also includes a virtual component for those who cannot attend.

Last year, the conference was as part of the World Microbe Forum, a collaboration between the American Society for Microbiology and the Federation of European Microbiological Societies.
Organizers are using a web-based portal this year to ensure that attendees comply with the conference’s health and safety policies. All attendees are required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
On-site safety measures include thermal scanners that can measure the body temperatures of individual attendees and groups of people.
Healio is covering the meeting live on-site. You can read this year’s stories and more than a decade of coverage of ASM Microbe here.
