In this video, Nour Abdallah, MD, discusses an abstract from American Urological Association Annual Meeting on the use of artificial intelligence to predict the postoperative glomerular filtration rate after partial or radical nephrectomy.

Abdallah, a postdoctoral research fellow at Cleveland Clinic, highlighted research that showed software-derived approaches provided the most accurate estimations of postoperative glomerular filtration rates after radical nephrectomy in cases of renal cell carcinoma (RCC).

“This can be clinically used in challenging cases when a radical nephrectomy is a relevant consideration for the treatment of RCC,” Abdallah said.
