Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute names vice president of nursing
Colleen Lewis, MSN, ANP-BC, AOCNP, has been appointed vice president of nursing and research at Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute.
Lewis will oversee nursing practice activities, including the practice’s 220 nurse practitioners and physician assistants. She also will direct the clinical research and care management departments.
“With her significant nursing leadership and clinical research expertise in the oncology setting, Colleen is an outstanding addition to our senior leadership team,” Michael Diaz, MD, president and managing physician of Florida Cancer Specialists, said in a press release.
Lewis previously held multiple leadership positions at Emory Healthcare.
She played a key role in developing the phase 1 clinical trial program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, helping to establish the first dedicated research nurse practitioner role and create standard operating procedures.
She also served as director of clinical operations and as interim director of the ambulatory infusion center.
