In this video, Nancy Moldawer, RN, MSN, discussed new treatments in kidney cancer and how to apply nursing strategies to best meet the needs of patients with renal cell carcinoma.

"We really touched upon a gap that's out there," said Moldawer, a research nurse at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, about a discussion at the Oncology Nursing Society Congress 2022 on the best strategies for integrating novel therapeutic approaches into the care of patients with renal cell carcinoma.

"Because immunotherapy is such a widely used treatment, for not just kidney cancer, nurses have to be comfortable — as well as physicians — in managing the side effects," Moldawer said.
