Peter J. Mazzone, MD, MPH, pulmonologist and director of the lung cancer program for the Respiratory Institute at Cleveland Clinic, discussed takeaways for oncologists from the CHEST annual meeting.

He explained that oncologists “would be equally interested” in presentations on lung cancer screening and diagnostic tests.

“More and more patients that the oncologists see may have earlier stage disease with new treatments available to help with the curative intent plans for those patients,” Mazzone said. “And so, being aware of how those patients are being identified and evaluated I think would be very important to oncologists as well as pulmonologists in today’s environment.”
