In this video, Peter J. Mazzone, MD, MPH, pulmonologist and director of the lung cancer program in the Respiratory Institute at Cleveland Clinic, discusses his presentation on the role of shared decision-making in early-stage lung cancer.

The presentation was the CHEST annual meeting’s inaugural Richard S. Irwin, MD, Master FCCP honor lecture.

Mazzone explained that his presentation “walked us through early lung cancer management, from screening to nodule evaluation to treatment and survivorship.”

He added that clinicians should understand that “patient-centered care, shared decision-making, [and] high-quality communication are important across that entire spectrum.”
