ASH will honor Donna S. Neuberg, ScD, with the 2021 Exemplary Service Award at this year’s ASH Annual Meeting, scheduled for Dec. 11-14.

The award recognizes individuals whose outstanding service over a period of years significantly advanced the interests of the society.

Neuberg is senior statistician for the leukemia, lymphoma and benign hematology programs at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Her research interests include the planning and analysis of studies that integrate laboratory outcomes at the genome, transcriptome or proteome level with clinical and demographic information.

“Dr. Neuberg is an outstanding colleague and mentor, as well as a world-class statistician with an encyclopedic knowledge of hematology,” ASH President Martin S. Tallman, MD, chief of the leukemia service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, said in a society-issued press release. “Through her decades of dedicated service in ASH training programs ... [she] has empowered innumerable investigators to design clinical trials with the highest standards of scientific rigor and statistical methodology.”

Neuberg served on the editorial board of Blood from 2014 to 2017. She has served as a statistician for the ASH Research Collaborative Data Hub and also shared her expertise during development of the ASH Research Collaborative’s COVID-19 Registry for Hematology. She also has served as a mentor for the ASH Clinical Research Training Institute and the ASH-European Hematology Association Translational Research Training in Hematology program.
