VIDEO: ‘Practice changing’ updates in lung cancer from NCCN

In this video, Wallace Akerley, MD, spoke with Healio about guideline changes in lung cancer presented at the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Virtual Annual Meeting.

Ackerley, chairman of the Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee and director of the Lung Cancer Disease Center of Excellence at Huntsman Cancer Institute, also discussed two case report overviews that focused on the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer.

His main takeaway emphasized the growing role of gene testing in the future of lung cancer treatment.

“All major elements of gene testing in lung cancer have changed,” Ackerley said.
