In this video, Elizabeth Plimack, MD, chief of the division of genitourinary medical oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center, discussed the use of combination therapies for treatment of renal cell carcinoma.

Clinicians “really can’t lose,” she said, if they are opting for one of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network-recommended preferred therapies — as long as they consider the data and identify treatment priorities.

Ultimately, though, the fact that combination therapies are now “standard of care” is the most important point, Plimack said.
