Roy S. Herbst, MD, PhD, of Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital, discussed lectures given by both the current president of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, Tetsuya Mitsudomi, MD, and past president, Giorgio Scagliotti, MD, PhD.

Both lectures focused on personalized medicine, as well as perspective on where the field is headed and what the future of lung cancer care may look like.

“In 21 years of the meeting, we gone from chemotherapy alone in the metastatic setting to biomarker driven immunotherapy and now, the big get is we are moving all these therapies to the earlier stages of disease,” Herbst said. “Truly an amazing meeting.”
