Fox Chase Cancer Center announced several faculty appointments and promotions.
Michael Hall, MD, has been named chair of the department of clinical genetics.
Hall will continue to serve as associate professor in the department of clinical genetics, as well as director of gastrointestinal risk assessment.
His clinical and research work focuses on cancers of the gastrointestinal tract, including pancreatic, colorectal and small bowel cancers.
Susan Fisher, PhD, MS, has been named associate cancer center director for community outreach and health disparities. She will supervise the Office of Community Outreach and also serve in an advisory role in cancer health disparities on the campus.
Fisher will continue to serve as chair of the department of clinical sciences and professor of clinical sciences at Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University.
Her research interests include cancer, lymphoma epidemiology, public health, clinical trial design and epidemiologic studies.
Fox Chase also appointed five new endowed chairs.
Hossein Borghaei, DO, MS, has been appointed Gloria and Edmund M. Dunn chair in thoracic oncology.
Margie L. Clapper, PhD, has been appointed Samuel M.V. Hamilton chair in cancer prevention.
Erica Golemis, PhD, has been appointed William Wikoff Smith chair in cancer research.
Mariusz A. Wasik, MD, has been appointed Donald E. and Shirley C. Morel, Stanley and Stella Bayster chair in molecular diagnostics
Johnathan R. Whetstine, PhD, has been appointed Jack Schultz chair in basic science.
