VIDEO: Symposium offers research, mentorship opportunities
MIAMI — Toni K. Choueiri, MD, from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center, interviews two members of the Scientific Program Committee to offer an overview of the International Kidney Cancer Symposium.
In this video, Choueiri talks to committee co-chairs Sumanta Pal, MD, from City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center and a HemOnc Today Editorial Board Member, and Jose A. Karam, MD, FACS, from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, about a new mentorship program, as well as other highlights from the meeting.
“It is a very important meeting this year, especially because there is a lot of original research being presented for the first time,” Karam said. “... Some of the new things we have introduced this year are health disparities, cost-effectiveness, values, mentoring and funding of kidney cancer research.
