The Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses presented several awards at its annual conference and exhibit, held earlier this year in Palm Springs, Calif.

“It is her humble leadership and genuine encouragement that inspires others to lead,” Casey Hooke, PhD APRN CNS CPON, past president of the association, said in a press release. “She champions the belief that everyone has something to contribute and generates sustainable excitement for improving the lives of our patients and families.”

Haskamp served as chair of the association’s steering council and the 2016 annual conference program planning committee.

“Amy accomplished the near-impossible feat of simultaneously chairing the [association’s] steering council and the conference program planning committee last year,” Ruccione said. “She was highly effective in both roles, contributing significantly to the success of [the association’s] projects and our annual conference.
