Edward Melian, MD, a radiation oncologist with Loyola Medicine, received the Chicago Radiological Society’s Distinguished Service Award.

The award, the highest honor the society bestows on its members, recognizes Melian’s leadership and years of service to both radiology and radiation oncology.

Melian has served as codirector of the lung cancer evaluation center and member of the neuro-oncology clinic at Loyola’s Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center. He specializes in brain tumors, pediatric cancer, spinal tumors, brachytherapy, radiosurgery, sarcomas, stereotactic body radiation therapy and trigeminal neuralgia.
