Learn Immuno-Oncology New York, an interactive educational event focused on the rapidly evolving future of cancer treatment, will be held March 23 at Sheraton New York.
This educational course — offered by Healio.com Learn Immuno-Oncology, a curriculum-based resource that will launch soon on the online home of HemOnc Today — will offer a unique opportunity to hear from experts how immuno-oncology is changing the standards for cancer treatment and care.
The program will explore the basics of immuno-oncology, current and future therapies, and best practices for integrating these treatments into practice.
The course aims to help attendees:
- Recognize the role the body’s immune system plays in regulating and monitoring antitumor activity;
- Understand possibilities for how to integrate immuno-oncology therapies into standards of care for various tumor types, including colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, head and neck cancer, leukemia, lung cancer, lymphoma, melanoma, multiple myeloma, renal cell carcinoma and prostate cancer; and
- Identify best practices for using immunotherapy for patient management through case examples.
There also will be case-based discussions on tumor boards in melanoma, lung cancer, renal cell carcinoma, and head and neck cancer.
The course chair is Robert H.I. Andtbacka, MD, CM, FACS, FRCSC, of University of Utah Huntsman Cancer Institute. Faculty members are Sanjiv S. Agarwala, MD, of St. Luke’s Cancer Center and Temple University; Robert L. Ferris, MD, PhD, of University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute; and Edward S. Kim, MD, of Levine Cancer Institute at Carolinas HealthCare System.
