HemOnc Today Melanoma and Cutaneous Malignancies to highlight advances in detection, patient care
The staff of HemOnc Today and Healio.com/HemOnc will present live coverage from HemOnc Today Melanoma and Cutaneous Malignancies, scheduled for April 10-11 in New York.
Coverage will include summaries of faculty members’ presentations, video commentaries from leading experts in the field and highlights of research presented during a poster session.
Conference faculty will provide overviews of trends in melanoma screening, diagnosis, management and treatment.
Sessions will be dedicated to epidemiology and early detection, adjuvant therapy, local and regional therapy, immunotherapy, pathway-targeting approaches in metastatic melanoma, and developments in other cutaneous malignancies.
Presentation topics will include:
- Leveraging technologies for melanoma screening and diagnosis;
- The role of sentinel node biopsy in desmoplastic melanoma;
- Checkpoint blockade as adjuvant therapy in melanoma;
- Oncolytic immunotherapy and combinations;
- Current management of advanced basal cell carcinoma;
- Predictive biomarkers for immunotherapy in melanoma; and
- Sequencing targeted therapy and immunotherapy.
The program also will feature debates and clinical conundrums, as well as a poster abstract session.
“Our program is designed for hematologists/oncologists, dermatologists, researchers, physician assistants, nurses and students,” said program director Sanjiv S. Agarwala, MD, chief of hematology/oncology at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, Pa., and a HemOnc Today Editorial Board member. “This is a dynamic meeting that encourages audience participation, so that we may all benefit from each other’s experiences and challenges.”
