Johns Hopkins Medicine made the following faculty announcements:
  • Rakhi P. Naik, MD, assistant professor of medicine in the division of adult hematology in the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, has been selected to participate in the ASH Clinical Research Training program.
The education and mentorship program is designed to prepare current hematology and hematology/oncology fellows and junior faculty for careers in patient-oriented clinical research.
  • Ravi Varadhan, PhD, has been appointed associate professor of oncology in the division of biostatistics and bioinformatics. He also has joint appointments at the Johns Hopkins Center on Aging and Health and in the Department of Biostatistics, as well as with the Center for Drug Safety and Effectiveness at Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Varadhan will collaborate with the clinical researchers in the Program on Hematologic Malignancies and BMT.  He will provide biostatistical expertise for the design and analysis of clinical trials, retrospective studies and laboratory studies.
