William Small Jr.

William Small Jr., MD, FACRO, FACR, FASTRO, has been named chair of the Gynecological Cancer Intergroup, an international organization of more than 25 cooperative oncology groups focused on gynecologic clinical trials.

Small will lead the organization’s efforts to conduct and promote high-quality clinical trials to improve outcomes for women with gynecologic cancer. He also will oversee group-led studies in rare tumors.

Small is chair of the department of radiation oncology at Loyola University Health System. He previously served as vice chair of radiation oncology at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University.

Small specializes in gynecologic, gastrointestinal and breast cancers. He is co-chair of the NCI-funded NRG Oncology Gynecological Committee.
