William Small Jr., MD, FACRO, FACR, FASTRO, has been appointed chair of Loyola University Health System’s department of radiation oncology.

Small specializes in gynecologic malignancies, as well as gastrointestinal and breast cancers.

Small is co-chair of the NCI-funded Radiation Therapy Oncology Group gynecological working committee, and he also serves on the NCI Gynecological Steering Committee. He recently was appointed chair-elect of the Gynecological Cancer Intergroup.

He previously served as vice chair of radiation oncology of Northwestern University’s Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Small replaces Bahman Emami, MD, FACR, FASTRO, who will continue as a tenured professor at Loyola.
