Loyola University Health System has named Theodore J. Saclarides, MD, FACS, as director of its division of colorectal surgery.

Saclarides also will serve as professor of surgery at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.

“Ted Saclarides will help reinforce Loyola’s reputation as a leader in colorectal surgery and research,” Paul C. Kuo, MD, MS, MBA, chair of the department of surgery at Loyola University Medical Center and director of the Oncology Institute, said in a press release. “Dr. Saclarides will offer inspiration and strong leadership within the surgical department and exceptional world-class care to our patients.”

Saclarides had been on staff at Rush University Medical Center since 1988. He most recently served as head of the section of colon and rectal surgery. He also was a professor of surgery at Rush Medical College.
