Three physicians have been elected to 3-year terms on the Association of American Cancer Institutes’ board of directors.

Kevin J. Cullen, MD, is director of the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center. Cullen specializes in head and neck cancers. He is a professor of medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and is head of its program in oncology.

Michael B. Kastan, MD, PhD, became executive director of the Duke Cancer Institute in 2011. He is a pediatric oncologist and a cancer biologist. His laboratory research concentrates on DNA damage and repair, tumor suppressor genes, and causes of cancer related to genetic predisposition and environmental exposures.

Edison T. Liu, MD, is president and CEO of The Jackson Laboratory and director of The Jackson Laboratory Cancer Center. Liu has been president of the international Human Genome Organization since 2007.
