University names oncology chief
Sunil Sharma
Sunil Sharma, MD, a professor of internal medicine at the University of Utah, has taken over as chief of the university’s division of oncology.
The oncology division focuses on clinical, research and education initiatives.
Sharma has served as senior director of clinical research at Huntsman Cancer Institute and director of the institute’s Center for Investigational Therapeutics. He also has been a member of the institute’s colon cancer and imaging, diagnostics and therapeutics program.
“Dr. Sharma is the person to catalyze further development in the division, and we are very pleased to have him in this role,” John Hoidal, MD, professor and department chair of the University of Utah department of medicine, said in a press release.
