William L. Dahut, MD, has been named deputy director of NCI’s Center for Cancer Research.

Dahut will provide administrative and scientific oversight to several of the center’s laboratories and branches. He also will help the center’s director with policy development, resource allocation, strategy and priority setting.

Dahut joined NCI’s medicine branch in 1998 as head of the prostate cancer clinic. He later became chief of the Genitourinary/Gynecological Clinical Research Section, which is part of what is now known as the Medical Oncology Branch.

In 2009, Dahut became clinical director of the Center for Cancer Research. He will continue to serve in that role.
