I rarely think of my job in health care as being very poetic. Scientific, yes. Artistic or poetic, not so much. I spent my adult life learning science and math and so on, and in the process pushing out whatever part of me was creative or free-thinking. Frankly I find even scrapbooking too intimidating because of the necessary creativity to do it. But thank goodness there are more talented, right-brained people (http://www.funderstanding.com/content/right-brain-vs-left-brain) out there in oncology.

One of my most favorite recent discoveries is OncRN (http://oncrn.blogspot.com/). This is a blog written by an oncology nurse. She has a lovely way of perfectly capturing the frustrations, the beauty and the privileges of this career. And her writing keeps getting better - her most recent entry "another" is one of her best yet. She writes "do you have that mini silent grieving/where your eyes close gently and there's that little squeezing ache" about when you hear about another patient's death. (Yes, I do. I know exactly what you mean. I feel that same pain several times a month, sometimes several times a week.) Keep writing, OncRN, you add a great voice to the discussion. Anyone else have any arty oncology or medicine sites to recommend to me?
