Oncology gift guide
It’s time for my second annual oncology gift guide! (Or, a convenient excuse to do a little online browsing).
For oncology nurses:
- How about a charming personalized nursing Christmas tree ornament?
- Or a slightly more edgy Betty Boop one which says ‘Nurses are here to save your butt, not kiss it’ for the more burnt out nurses in your life?
- So cute jewelry box in the shape of a nurse’s hat that plays ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’.
For oncologists:
- For the religious among us, maybe they would like a book about the great and ancient physician St. Luke for Christmas.
- Or a cook neuron silk tie (bought my husband one of their ties last year, amazing quality!).
- This would be a nice addition to a waiting room or exam room — a painting made by the artist while she was undergoing chemotherapy. Bright, vibrant and hopeful is how I would describe it.
For research staff:
- A handmade shawl, the proceeds of which go to the American Cancer Society.
- Cancer means crab, right? So, how about a crab-shaped collectible box?
- Totally gorgeous wooden (ash) rolodex card separators - you can custom order one if you don’t like this one.
For oncology patients:
- A simply lovely necklace which can hold the inspirational saying of your choice and includes a cancer ribbon and gemstone.
- Handmade crocheted hat, provides lots of coverage.
- Super rich and moisturizing lotion.
- I have a patient who swears that dark chocolate keeps his platelets up while he is on chemotherapy. In that vein, how about some vegan, handmade, small batch dark chocolates to enjoy?
