HemOnc Today is pleased to introduce a new CME meeting, "HemOnc Today Melanoma and Cutaneous Malignancies." Intended to educate oncologists and dermatologists on the topics of melanoma and cutaneous malignancies, the meeting will be held at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel on June 25-26, 2011.

Led by Course Director, Sanjiv S. Agarwala, MD, and Planning Committee Members, Allan C. Halpern, MD, MSc, and Vernon K. Sondak, MD, attending physicians will receive a comprehensive update on melanoma, including disease prevention, current and emerging diagnostic technologies, genetic testing, adjuvant therapy, emerging therapies for regional disease and systemic therapies. The program format will consist of didactic lectures, interactive case presentations and open discussions to enhance patient care decision-making expertise. More than 20 faculty members in total will present at the meeting.

"The faculty of HemOnc Today Melanoma and Cutaneous Malignancies have advanced expertise in oncology, dermatology and cutaneous malignancies, providing attendees with comprehensive exposure to all relevant aspects of the management and biology of melanoma and other cutaneous malignancies," Agarwala said. "We'll also delve into data from recent national and international meetings, such as ASCO and ESMO, to see how our practices may be impacted in 2011."

Agarwala is Chief of Medical Oncology and Hematology at St. Luke's Cancer Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and also holds the position of Professor of Medicine for Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Halpern currently serves as Chief of Dermatology Service at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer in New York. Sondak is Department Chair of Cutaneous Oncology at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute and Professor for Departments of Surgery & Oncologic Sciences at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa. Agarwala, Halpern and Sondak served as Program Committee Members for the International Symposium on Melanoma and Other Cutaneous Malignancies. The organizers of that meeting recently discontinued the event in its eighth year.

HemOnc Today Melanoma and Cutaneous Malignancies is jointly sponsored by HemOnc Today and Vindico Medical Education.

"As an oncology news source, HemOnc Today is very excited to add a live education component to its print, online and mobile platforms," said Joan-Marie Stiglich, ELS, Senior Vice President of SLACK Incorporated, publisher of HemOnc Today. "Melanoma cases continue to increase, and so should opportunities for physician education. We expect approximately 300 physicians to attend this year's inaugural meeting."

The 2012 HemOnc Today Melanoma and Cutaneous Malignancies Meeting will be held April 13-14 at the Grand Hyatt, New York, NY. Learn more at HemOncToday.com/melanoma.
