Alopecia Areata Clinical Case Review

Case 2: Chosen Therapy

Back

Maryanne Senna, MD, assistant professor of dermatology at Harvard Medical School, reveals the selected treatment:

"So, for this patient with severe alopecia areata, I recommended initiation with baricitinib, 4 mg, once daily. As baseline labs were all within normal limits, I recommended that the patient follow up with me in clinic and repeat her labs in 3 months. She was told to call or return to clinic if any side effects or other concerns developed."
