CLEVELAND — In this video perspective from the Cleveland Clinic’s Medical Dermatology Therapy Update III meeting, Adam Brown, MD, a rheumatologist at the institution, discusses what to look for in leukocytoclastic, or cutaneous, vasculitis.

Both an autoimmune and skin condition, cutaneous vasculitis can stem from medications, vaccines or infections, and determining the cause is intrinsic to treatment.

“The big question is, ‘Is it a systemic process or not a systemic process?’” Brown said.

Treatment options are limited, with few showing great amounts of efficacy, but the ongoing ARAMIS trial is evaluating the most popular treatment options and their efficacy in patients with the disease.
