In this Healio exclusive video, Ronda S. Farah, MD, FAAD, talks about a session at this year’s American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting on addressing misinformation on social media and tips for dermatologists.

Farah, an associate professor in the department of dermatology at University of Minnesota, directed the session, which also included speakers Sara Moghaddam, MD, FAAD, a dermatologist at Delmarva Skin Specialists, Oyetewa Oyerinde, MD, FAAD, assistant professor of dermatology and director of the Skin of Color Clinic at Baylor College of Medicine, and Kara Jilek, BS, AAD social media manager.

“We talked about misconceptions on social media, we talked about how to handle negative comments, we talked about what your goals as a dermatologist might be on social media, [and] we gave tips and pearls for social media,” Farah said.
