In this Healio exclusive video, Raj Chovatiya, MD, PhD, discussed research into the interleukin-4 alpha blocker dupilumab from the Maui Derm 2024 meeting, particularly its use in childhood and hand and foot atopic dermatitis.

Chovatiya, assistant professor of dermatology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, highlighted findings that showed promising long-term data in treating itch in children, as well as a label update addressing hand and foot cases.

“There was a really nice reprise of some of that data to show that, indeed, for individuals that have more limited involvement of the hand and feet, you can get improvement in erythema, scaling, flaking, lichenification. Pretty much all the signs that you expect would be very unique for the hands and feet,” Chovatiya said.
