“Skin of Color Update gives dermatologists vital updates and pearls that can directly impact patient care,” Eliot F. Battle Jr., MD, co-founder and co-chair of the event, said in the release.

Fellow co-founder and co-chair Andrew F. Alexis, MD, MPH, said the conference is “the ideal forum” to hear about “major advances in the treatment of inflammatory, pigmentary and hair disorders, as well as injectable, laser and energy-based therapeutic approaches to common dermatologic concerns that have nuances in skin of color.”

The conference launches with a two-hour symposium on facial anatomy, assessment and managing complications — featuring live demonstrations — hosted by Michelle Henry, MD, and moderated by Cheryl Burgess, MD. Before the main event, a two-hour symposium, “Hair and Scalp Disorders in Patients with Skin of Color: A Case-Based Conversation with the Experts,” will be offered virtually Sept. 14.

Most medical professionals can register to attend Skin of Color Update on the event’s website.

The meeting was last held at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel in September 2022 after not being held in-person since 2019.
