NEW ORLEANS — Johnson & Johnson presented data in multiple areas at the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting.

In this Healio video exclusive, Menas Kizoulis, director of scientific engagement for the company, discusses four research areas the company is presenting: retinol, acne, sun burn behavior and atopic dermatitis.

“We are excited to be presenting a wide breadth and depth of research for our skin health portfolio,” he said.

First, a large retrospective analysis found stabilized retinol used over a consistent time period to have cosmetic benefits in photo aging.

Secondly, new research on a sulfur and niacinamide combination found it to be beneficial in the treatment of acne.

Additionally, research on atopic dermatitis is looking at skin surface biomarkers in children who are predisposed to the condition and the company is working with researchers to evaluate the benefits of early emollient therapy.
