PHILADELPHIA — In this Healio video exclusive, Erin D. Michos, MD, MHS, FAHA, FACC, FASE, FASPC, highlights the need for greater prevention of myocardial infarction and cardiovascular death in young women.
At the Heart in Diabetes CME Conference, Michos said there is a “worsening trend” in rates of both MI and CV death among women aged younger than 55 years. Michos further discusses differences in risk, outcomes and treatment between young women and young men with MI.
“We need to do better about prevention and treatment of myocardial infarction in young women,” Michos said.
