CVRx Inc. announced the launch of its next-generation programmer for its implantable pulse neuromodulation generator to treat HF symptoms.

According to a company release, the second-generation programmer (Barostim) was approved by the FDA earlier in 2022.

The new programmer operates on an upgraded cellular network, remote view access and simplified device programming. According to the release, the new programmer is compatible with the company’s other implantable systems.

“The new Barostim programmer builds upon the earlier model and includes significant enhancements to both hardware and software,” Nadim Yared, president and CEO of CVRx, said in the release. “This upgrade allows CVRx to continue to provide superior customer support and reflects our commitment to innovating across all aspects of Barostim therapy.”
