In this video exclusive, Mark J. Day, PhD, MBA, MS, BSc, discusses the benefits of pairing artificial intelligence with cardiologist experience and insights to improving cardiac patient care.

Day, the executive vice president of research & development for iRhythm Technologies, Inc., said improving and distributing knowledge through AI can allow better clinician efficacy.

“It’s a partnership in essence between the clinical and the technology and kind of the academic side of things to really make sure that we’re solving meaningful problems, that we start on the right foot with respect to the problems that we think we’re trying to solve and we make sure that we’re really addressing unmet needs there as well so we’re really focused on where it needs to be,” Day said.

Day highlighted topics related to findings based on a study published in Nature Medicine on cardiologist-level arrhythmia detection and the use of computerized ECG.
