HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — Bringing together health care professionals across multiple specialties, the International Symposium on Endovascular Therapy offered “the next level of education,” Jihad A. Mustapha, MD, FACC, FSCAI, said in this video exclusive.

Mustapha, who is CEO of Advanced Cardiac and Vascular Amputation Prevention Centers in Grand Rapids, Michigan and clinical associate professor of medicine at Michigan State University, described the meeting as an example of “the modern world of education, where multiple specialties are able to discuss their different approaches of therapy to the same disease.”

Attendees from disparate backgrounds were able to come to a consensus on topics such as whether endovascular intervention or bypass surgery is better for treating common femoral artery disease, he said.
