The American College of Cardiology announced the launching of its CVD prevention program in 10 countries.
The program uses innovate technology and the latest science to provide resources to help physicians prevent and manage CVD, and includes webinar videos and social media materials that can be distributed in each country, according to a press release issued by the ACC.
The program, supported by Pfizer and already launched in China, will expand to Argentina, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam, according to the release.
The ACC stated that it will be partnering with the local cardiology societies to tailor the program for each country.
“To be effective in changing the culture around treating and preventing heart disease, you have to reach clinicians where they live and practice and beyond a single intervention,” Daniel José Piñeiro, MD, FACC, from Universidad de Buenos Aires Medicine, Argentina, and chair of the ACC Assembly of International Governors, said in the release. “We are committed to working with our colleagues in ACC’s international chapters to implement this program in a way that achieves maximum impact and furthers the college’s mission to prevent [CVD] and improve patient care on a global scale.”
