VIDEO: More research needed to determine optimal strategies for reducing HF readmissions

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — In this video, Nancy Albert, PhD, CNS, of the Cleveland Clinic, discusses her presentation at the AAHFN Annual Meeting on reducing HF readmissions.

Reducing readmissions is a “timely” topic, according to Albert, with ongoing research that aims to determine which programs, services and mechanisms will be most effective. Performance improvement monitoring also is needed to determine “how well the programs we put in place work, so we can determine if, indeed, the program really is beneficial,” she said.

According to Albert, it is not yet clear what “the right mix of interventions” will be.

“More research is needed to help us do a better job in this regard,” she said.
