VIDEO: Advances in reducing readmissions lead to ‘really exciting time’ in HF

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – In this video, Kim Newlin, RN, CNS, NP-C, FPCNA, of Sutter Roseville Medical Center in Roseville, Calif., reviews some of the highlights in reducing HF readmission rates that have been presented the AAHFN Annual Meeting.

There has been “a lot of focus” in this area, according to Newlin. Different methods for achieving this goal have been discussed, including home visits and the use of new technologies and medications. These advances have made it “a really exciting time in HF.”

“I think that’s why there’s a big group here,” Newlin said. “Here is where you come to learn about how people actually take these new interventions and implement them into their everyday workflow and are able to then really make an impact in patients’ lives.”
